PayPal's Fee Structure Is More Complicated Than One Flat Rate
PayPal doesn't charge a single universal fee — the rate depends on whether you're receiving a domestic or international payment, whether the buyer used a goods-and-services transaction, a PayPal QR code in person, or a micropayments-eligible small amount, and which country both parties are in. Domestic commercial transactions, cross-border payments, and micropayments (common for low-priced digital goods) can each carry a meaningfully different percentage-plus-fixed-fee structure. Without a calculator, it's genuinely difficult to know in advance what will actually land in your account versus what the buyer paid.
